Steven Okert pitched one inning while Alimber Santa handled the eighth and ninth to complete the no-no in his major league debut.
In the ninth, Joc Pederson lined out softly to second base, Alejandro Osuna grounded out to third, and Brandon Nimmo struck out looking to end it. Nimmo challenged the called third strike, but the video review confirmed the ruling.
Imai (2-2) walked four and struck out two in his 97-pitch outing. Okert issued one walk.
The majors' most recent no-hitter had been thrown by three Chicago Cubs pitchers in a 12-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sept. 4, 2024.
The Astros' Ronel Blanco threw a no-hitter on April 1, 2024, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 10-0. The Rangers were last no-hit by the New York Yankees' Corey Kluber in a 2-0 loss on May 19, 2021.
Yordan Alvarez and Christian Walker homered for Houston.
